On April 7, 2017, the Arkansas Biosciences Institute (ABI) held the DNA Day event in the Student Activity Center at A-State.

The goal of the event is to provide an opportunity for students to learn about and celebrate the latest advances in genomic research and explore how those advances might impact their lives. During the event, Jr. High students from regional Arkansas schools participated in an entire morning of hands-on activities centered on genetic research going on at A-State. They learned about how DNA is used in plant bioengineering of human pharmaceuticals to how it is used to track down wildlife poachers.

This year, ABI partnered with the Endangered Wolf Center in Missouri and the A-State College of Sciences and Mathematics for a Red Wolf conservation event theme.
